Paraffin wax, used in the laboratory/hospital to dehydrate and encase tissues in cellular or pathology, provides better stability for cells and tissues to be observed and studied for lesions.
Tissue-Wax is a highly purified, filtered white paraffin wax blended with synthetic polymers and a small addition of dimethyl sulfoxide to enhance tissue penetration and thereby reduce penetration time. Suitable for routine embedding and sectioning applications. Provides minimal cooling shrinkage and high performance, ease of cutting and ribbon continuity during sectioning. Also recommended for larger or harder tissue samples as it reduces section brittleness for more flexible ribbons. Melting point 56-58 o C, freezing point 54-56 o C. Available in pellet form.
